In this first episode (plagued by technical difficulties forcing David Simkins and Marc Zicree to kick it old school… with a phone) the discussion ranges from J.J. Abrams’ new vision of Star Trek to Marc’s old/new vision with George Takei, the Dave School for special effects, The Twilight Zone, and the ongoing attempts to crack the code.

Hi Marc!
I love the podcast. It’s such a shame you lost the first spontaneous one, but I’m glad you persisted because this one came out really well.
It will be worth it to surmount the technical difficulties to keep us all up to date on development for your new show.
I am excited by it because you keep mentioning my favorite authors, my favorite TV shows, and my favorite subjects.
Whatever Frontier is about, I’m sure it’ll end up being a favorite of mine.
Live Long and Prosper,

The subscription link isn’t pointing to any RSS-enabled link that qualifies this as a “podcast.” Still looking forward to hearing it, though.
Ms. Lichtenberg remains the ne plus ultra of Trek fiction. My compliments to the best source of Vulcan-centric storytelling, ever.

The subscription link is the orange RSS Feed Button at the left of the text that reads, “Click the button at left to subscribe” (and, yes, I changed this text to make the button obvious). Once you’re on the feed page look to the lower right to see the link that subscribes you via iTunes. Or you can always download the podcasts directly from the two links that read, “Download the mp3 version,” and “Download the aac version.” Once you’ve downloaded them (by clicking and dragging down on the triangle in the right-hand side of the Quicktime playback control) you can then also copy the downloaded file into iTunes or leave it on your desktop. Hope this helps.

Those tech difficulties, by the way, are apparently entirely Apple’s fault. Looks like the USB audio drivers in Leopard have completely trashed the way incoming audio is handled. Or not handled. Until Apple fixes the issue it’s recommended (via the Apple Discussion Boards/Garageband) that podcasters revert back to the 10.4.1 operating system.

… oh the voodoo one must do to get a podcast made. I spent today setting settings and recording recordings in an attempt to get my MacBook Pro and three Plantronics headsets to play nicely in Garageband’s sandbox. Finally, success. I didn’t downgrade the OS. But I did upgrade my podcasting knowledge. I’m sure it will all fall apart at the next recording session.

iTunes is weighing the podcastability now…
